7.2 Be the best you can be

This is the focus for the children this year and themed weekly awards have already been well received – manners and team work have been areas of focus so far.

Awards for staff may also be introduced

Opportunities to voice their opinions and to be able to help with things like virtual assemblies

7.4 Leadership Academy

Each class has a leadership opportunity and will be given an area of focus, such as fundraising etc. Staff will also be provided with leadership opportunities.

7.5 Areas for improvement

Writing is an area of focus

A new tracking and monitoring process will be implemented which is linked to Lornshill which will make things easier to see progression and will improve the reporting to parents.  The teachers will be taught this term and it will take effect the following term.

Through the pupil equity fund, all primary 7 pupils will receive a chromebook which will be returned at the end of the school year.

7.6 Hot lunches return on the 27th of September for the primary 1 and 2 this will be a new experience but is a positive sign of things resuming to as they once were.  Some practice lunches will be held so the younger ones can get used to carrying trays etc.

The nursery are already getting hot meals.

7.7 Community relationships

Lesley from the CDT will come in to speak to the pupil council regarding the community action plan it is important that we recognise the rights of the child and let them have their say.

7.8 Communications guide

Mrs Donald and Mrs Johnston are developing a communications guide that will be distributed to all parents, it will take the form of an A5 booklet and will be handed out soon.

It essentially is a guide that explains who you should contact and when regarding queries.

8.0 AOB
8.1 Fiona raised the question if Facemasks should still be worn in playground – Mrs L advised that council guidelines for the school remain the same as they were pre summer so can CPC share on facebook etc a reminder of the 2m distancing etc CPC
8.2 Fiona asked if we can do anything for Christmas – Mrs L advised that at this time the school have been told not to future plan but would keep us updated
8.3 It was agreed that the CPC would pay for snacks and treats for Halloween in the same way that we did last year as we are unlikely to be able to host a disco again this year. CPC
8.4 Fundraising – it was agreed that we would continue not to run dress down days and we would reassess this in January

The school will support fundraising opportunities such as Christmas Jumper day etc on the understanding that you give what you can.  These fundraising opportunities instil community values into the children and provide them with leadership opportunities so it is important to give them the chance to take part in them.

8.5 Internet Safety

Mrs L asked if CPC could use the facebook page to support the schools internet safety messages it was agreed that we would
