Headteacher Update November 2019
Clackmannan Primary School Ambassadors
This session we have launched our Senior School Pupil Ambassadors. Children from P5-7 were invited to become part of our 5 Ambassador Groups. These are School Leadership Ambassadors, Digital Ambassadors, Health and Wellbeing Ambassadors, Reading Ambassadors and Sports Ambassadors. The pupils will be supporting and leading school improvements so watch out for their updates! Well done to all of the children. They have now received their badges and photos will follow on Dojo.
Partnerships
This session we are funding different partners to continue to enhance the curriculum offer for ALL our children.
- P7 and P6/7 children will be participating in the Into Film project. Into Film puts film at the heart of children and young people’s education, helping to support their academic, cultural, and social development.
- Tablet Academy will be working with our Digital Ambassadors and helping our school with developing a digital culture. They will also be leading digital learning with P6, P4 and P3/4.
- Y Dance is continuing with their programme of work entitled Shake It Up (SIU) which is designed to deliver cross-curricular dance sessions and also increasing attainment amongst pupils in literacy in P2/3, P4 and P5
- And our younger pupils P1U, P1M and P2M will be participating in the Scots Song Project next year.
We are committed to ensuring all of our classes benefit from partnership working and we are investing in their unique skills and abilities.
Reading
We love reading at Clackmannan Primary School and we are delighted to tell you are we going for the Silver Accreditation Award from the Scottish Book Trust. We have paid for the author, Stuart Reid, to lead creative writing workshops with every class and he is also leading an assembly for families. Watch this space for even more of our book and reading opportunities.
Staff Team
We are pleased to announce Mr Leishman has now been appointed as our permanent janitor. Welcome to the team.
Nursery
We are delighted to be able to provide 1140 hours (per year!) for all of our nursery children now. This means children are entitled to 6 hours per day from nursery and/or child minding partners. The children have settled into their new full day routines very well and are enjoying the lunches which are provided.
