Pupil Leadership Team

After a tough few weeks of presentations and interviews we are very pleased to present our Pupil Leadership Team. As well as undertaking hosting and compering duties and representing the school at a range of functions, the Pupil Leadership team will meet with Mrs Wieczorek and Mr McLaren to discuss ways of improving the school. They will add some of the highlights of these discussion to this blog as well so check back often!

Deputy Head Boy and Girl interviews

This morning is a very exciting time for some of our primary 6 children. Over the last few weeks the teachers have been talking with the children about who would like to be deputy head boy and girl and, more importantly, what skills and qualities they would bring to the job. This morning we have a shortleet of six children who will be presenting to Mrs Wieczorek and Mr McLaren and then answering some questions…. We await the results with bated breath!image

Primary Six

We have the privilege of being the first class to post on the new whole school blog.  It was our assembly on Monday and we sang Seek Ye First,; you can hear us below. We liked singing in harmony.

We told the assembly about our theme and our class novel.  Our theme is Scottish Stories and we are learning about various stories, as well as how to write stories and poems in Scots.  Our class novel is called The Killer Underpants and was written by Michael Lawrence.  It is about a boy called Jiggy who gets new underpants and can’t get them off again.  We think it is very funny and we’re enjoying it very much.

ClassDojo Class Story

Over the next few weeks all of our classes will be adding a “Class Story” to the ClassDojo experience.  The class story is a little bit like a blog but can happen right there and then!  Please send a message to your child’s teacher to let them know what you think of the new Class Story application when it arrives in your stream.

PS don’t worry, the school will still have a blog but classes, groups and individuals will take turns at writing it so everyone will get to hear about the work going on all over the school!

Garden Gang

Garden Gang: Mrs More and P4 are looking for any volunteers from our many friends and families who would be willing to come and spend sometime with our P4 class in our outside areas. Please contact the school office on 01259 724189 or send contact details to Mrs More or Mrs Petrie for more information.

Welcome Back!

We all settled back into school life very quickly this week. It was lovely to welcome everyone back. Mr McLaren is back with us again and we have also said hello to some new staff members – Mrs Johnstone joins us and is working with P1 and Miss Muir will be completing her probationer year with us, working with P3. Mrs Urquhart, who joined us late last session, will be working in P3 and P7 to cover Miss Muir’s professional development day each Wednesday, and Mrs Cartwright’s PT duties Tuesday and Thursday. Mrs Urquhart will also be in our nursery class and working with Mrs Mills. Mrs More joins us and will be working with P4 on a Wednesday and Thursday allowing Mrs Petrie to fulfil her PT role in school. We are delighted to welcome Miss Lamb to the nursery team. Mrs Bernard and Mrs Ross have started their maternity leave (we will keep you posted!) and Mrs Walker, from our nursery team, has taken up a new position in another authority.
