Headteacher Update February 2018
Dear Families,
It has been a very successful month with many different achievements being celebrated. Well done to our sporting teams, quiz teams, Value Superstars and Manners Superheroes. We are very proud of you all.
Staffing
Miss Cairy McNeil will return from her maternity leave week beginning 26th March. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Miss Paige Allan for her work in the nursery. Our children, families and team will miss you and we wish you well with your next steps
Attendance
Remember we are aiming for 95% attendance. Any lower than that could mean your child is missing out on a month of learning and teaching over the course of the year. If you contact me directly I can let you know what your child’s attendance is so far this session. At Clackmannan Primary and Nursery every day counts and children need to attend to achieve. If we can help in any way, please let me know.
The number of children who are late in the morning is also increasing. Although the odd occasion is understandable, once again children are missing out on key information which will affect their progress.
Attend to Achieve – Every Day Counts
Concerns
We pride ourselves on dealing with concerns promptly. Please continue to contact your class teacher/key worker in the first instance then Mrs Petrie for Nursery and P1, Mrs Budge for P2-4 and Mrs Cartwright for P5-7. If you would like contact me I will always try to make myself available at a time which suits you. Thank you.
School Lunches
Please can we ask that your child’s lunch money is handed in each day when they are ordering lunch. We have to send all payments of to Clackmannanshire Council weekly and do require all meals to be paid for prior to us completing this.
Curriculum Rationale
We have shared our journey of creating our rationale and popped a link on School Story. Please take the time to have a look.
It is also published on our website and on our twitter account. Follow us @ClackmannanPS
We are very proud of our journey together.
Refurbishment
Due to time delays with teaching walls and IT on the top floor, the classrooms will not be ready by Easter… Watch this space for more information.
