We read the story ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’.  The animals in the story gave George a crown because he was so kind.  We made Kindness Crowns for ourselves, our friends and our family.  If you are kind then you make other people happy.  Being Kind is one of our golden rules!

Our mud garden has become a bit overgrown over the summer holidays, but there’s still lots to explore! If any nursery family or friends would like to help us do some digging and planting then please let us know!

Welcome back and welcome to our new starts to nursery session 2016-17.  Welcome too to our new staff member Mrs Smith.

We hope that everyone had a great summer and we are looking forward to our learning together! 

On Friday the children who are going to Primary One after the summer holidays had a chance to visit their new classroom and meet their new teacher.  It was very exciting and all the children did really well.

Mrs Hamilton and Mrs Fraser, and all the other ladies, are looking forward to staying in Nursery and meeting the new children coming to Mill O’ Forest.

Today we learned 5 words to help us stay safe in the sun.

Slip – slip on something cool with  long sleeves

Slap – on a hat

Slide – on your sun glasses

Slop – on your sun cream every 2 hours

Slurp – your water!

Today we let our butterflies go, so far four of the five have emerged  and they have been flying around the hotel so we knew it was time to say goodbye and let them go. 

We have a visitor from France in nursery this week.  Claude was a bit shy at first because he doesn’t speak English but when the children said ‘Bonjour’ and told him their names, he felt much better.  We sang him our French song as well.

Our caterpillars moved into their new home today.  Our hotel has a 5 star rating on Trip Advisor and we have to be careful when are playing near by and not touch.

Our caterpillars have made cocoons and now we are waiting for them to become butterflies.  We are going to move them to a new Butterfly Hotel so they have more space when they come out.
