P1 Room 8 makes shortbread for Burns

We used soap to wash our hands before we baked. First we put the butter and sugar into a bowl and mixed it. Then we added flour and mixed until all the ingredients went together. Next we rolled the mixture until it was flat and we cut shapes. We chose hearts because Robbie Burns wrote love poems and we also made Scotland flags. We put them oven to cook. When the biscuits were cooled we sold them to primary 4, Room 5. They weren’t allowed to eat until we had said the Selkirk Grace.
