At Grange, there is a strong emphasis on developing our numeracy and maths skills.
We carry out our numeracy in fortnightly cycles of Understanding Number, Addition, Subtraction, Fractions and Decimals. We believe that this enables our pupils to revisit components of numeracy on a more frequent basis and also allows connections to be made between components. We use diagnostic tasks to allow both the children and the teacher to see where they are in a particular numeracy concept of learning at the start of a fortnightly cycle.
