World Book Day

To mark World Book Day, as well as a Reading is Power display we ran the following special activities:

Library competition – match the character to the book. Pupils had to track down members of staff who were wearing character badges and identify the book. This created a real buzz around the school.

Drop Everything and Read  (DEAR) – pupils were invited along to the Library at break and lunchtime for books, biscuits and banter. They could also pick up one of three WBD books.

Donnie the dolphin

Bridge of Don Academy’s very own dolphin has been on display in the Library over the last month. He was  designed and painted in the Art Department by last years S1 pupils as part of the Wild Dolphin trail. His name is Donnie and pupils used one of the BODA B’s (Be Caring) in their design to highlight that we should look after marine life. He was originally on display in Bridge of Don public library and was seen by many visitors.
