Thank you very much to anyone who may have sponsored us to go for a long walk on the Kincorth Hill. We were lucky with the weather and some of us walked really fast and even needed to carry our jackets, and those of others at times too!! It was tough but enjoyable!! What great views at this point.

Reading with our Buddy Class (P3) again!!!
We are getting to know our Buddies even more now and we are all enjoying reading a variety of different books each week!
CLIC Targets wb 25.09.2018
C– Counting: Squiggleworth (Step 4): I can partition a 2dp number. E.g.: 2.38
L– Learn Its: Adding with near doubles (Step 8): 5+4=, 5+6=; use the knowledge of 5+5=. 6+7=, 8+7 can use the fact of 7+7=; therefore the 8+9= can be aided through the knowledge of 8+8= or 9+9=. Revision of the 5x tables.
I– It’s Nothing New: Smile Multiplication (Step 3): I can write Smile Multiplication families. E.g 30×7=210,
C– Calculations: Multiplication (Step 12: 6, 7, 8 & 9 times tables):

1. Write out spellings 2 times using the Look, Cover, Write, Check method.
- Look– Discuss the look of the word, some letters are tall, have tails, have words within words, silent letters etc.
- Cover– Fold spelling sheet and keep out of sight.
- Write– Write out the word as best as you can remember.
- Check– Unfold spelling sheet and correct spellings, make any changes needed and continue onto the next word.
2. Learn for Friday
Fun Spelling Activity: Squiggly Spelling Words. Write your words out using clear handwriting, but try and write the words using squiggly letters.
Suggested Approach:
Tuesday – Practise words and write out list 1 by using the Look, Cover, Write, Check method.
Wednesday – Practise words and write out list 2 by using the Look, Cover, Write, Check method.

Numeracy with Games on Education City
We have been learning about coordinates; how to plot them on a graph and how to write them based on a point on a graph. To test our learning we played a game in the style of Battleships on Education City!!! It is safe to say we were super focused and enjoyed this lesson A LOT!!! Anyone fancy a challenge??
Cosy in the Reading Corner!!!!
Here are two girls who finished their work early and used the Reading Corner for their extension activity!!! I think they look pretty cosy!!!
Topic: Our Local Area
We went out into the local area around our school to launch our Local Study topic with a SCAVENGER HUNT!!!!!! It was lots of fun and we enjoyed finding most of the items on our list! Here are some of us enjoying the walk:

I– It’s Nothing New: Adding with Pim (Step 3): I can add thousands. E.g 3000+4000=7000 as we know 3+4=7…30+40=70,…300+400=700 “Swap the ‘thing’ to thousands”
C– Calculations: Multiplication (Step 12: 6, 7, 8 & 9 times tables): I can solve any 1d x 1d. Practise of tables that children feel less confident about. A good resource to use is the game Hit the Button, here is a link. (Tablet friendly)
