Letter Sounds
This week we are revising our last six letter sounds ai, j, oa, ie, ee, or. For homework use the letters in the envelope at the front of the pink book to make simple words such as rain or coat or bee. Please write the words you make on the sheet in the pink book for Friday.
Common Words
Please continue to revise the first 24 common words on the word walls in the white book. Words for this week are your and my. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday. You may need to help your child to write the number after counting the words together. They should also try to write the words.
Reading
The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday. We will finish the Big Cat Collins set of books on Monday and move onto a new Oxford Reading Tree set on Thursday.

Maths
This week we will again focus on number – counting, reading, saying, writing.
As part of our Big Maths we do CLIC sessions in the class which now in Primary 1 involve C – counting L – learn its I – it’s nothing new and C – calculations.
Counting – reading 1 digit numbers
Learn its – 3 + 3 = 6 and 4 + 4 = 8 and 5 + 5 = 10
It’s Nothing New – doubling 1 digit numbers
Calculations – understand the concept of adding
Topic
Our topic for the first weeks of this term is Scotland. This week we will watch and listen to some more Katie Morag stories. Last week we started dancing to some Scottish music and we will continue this week. We will also listen to and learn some Scottish words.
