This week we have the pantomime trip on Tuesday afternoon. Remember we will be late back to school.

Our class Christmas party is on Thursday afternoon along with Rooms 2 and 3. Don’t forget to wear your party clothes.

Friday is the last day of term and treat snack day. We will be going to church in the morning for our end of term service.

Letter Sounds

We will continue with our phonics for the last week of term. This week our letter sounds are oa and ie. Sound oa homework should be completed for Wednesday and sound ie homework should be completed by Friday. The children will need more help to think of words containing these sounds as they are not initial sounds. Suggestions for oa – goat, coat, boat. Suggestions for ie – tie, pie.

 

Common Words

Keep revising the first and second word walls. Words for this week are be and we. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday. You may need to help your child to write the number after counting the words together. They can now also try to write the words.

Reading

Reading books will be taken in this week and we will restart reading on the first week of the new term.

 

Topic

This week we will be doing lots of Christmas activities.

This week we have the Christmas Concerts on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

Friday is Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas cinema afternoon.

The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday. We will continue with Big Cat Collins. These books have lots of repetition in the stories so your child may remember the words from the previous page.   Encourage them to look at the words or point to them as you read.

Topic

Our concert dress rehearsal is on Monday afternoon and our final performances on Wednesday and Thursday. We will also be doing some Christmas activities.
