Week beginning Monday 1st July 2019

On Wednesday morning this week we are going to the Duthie Park for our whole school picnic. Snack will be provided. 

Friday is the last day of term and treat snack day. We will be going to church in the morning for our end of term service. 

 

There will be no homework this week and homework books can be kept at home. Reading books will be taken in on Monday.

Some of the children’s work will be sent home this week in the book bags. Maths books and writing folders will be passed on for the next class.

Week beginning Monday 24th June 2019

Our trip to Drum Castle is on Tuesday this week. Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather, wear school sweatshirt if possible and bring packed lunch and small snack in a backpack.

Letter Sounds

This week will be the last week for homework. The children will get a phonics worksheet to complete by Friday.

 

Common Words

Our final 2 words for this week are more and want. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday.  Word wall 6 will be stuck in the book for next week and the white homework book can then be kept at home.

Reading

The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday. These will be our last books for this session. Books will be taken in on Monday next week.

Maths

This week we will revise some of the topics we have covered in maths this year, Our CLIC sessions will also be revision.

 

 

Topic

This week we will be thinking about transition and taking things home which have been on the walls and preparing work to pass on to the next class.

Week beginning Monday 17th June 2019

Achiever’s Assembly is on Monday. Please bring any achievements from out of school activities.

We will be going up to Kincorth Library this week on Tuesday afternoon.

We have now completed all the letter sounds. Homework will now be spelling/word making which will be given home on a Monday and should be completed by Friday. Instructions are in the homework books.

Word pot words have been taken out so the word making cards can be kept in the word pots. You may also want to use the word pot for the letter sound cards for the week.

Please keep revising word walls 1-5 at home.

Words for this week are any and many. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday.  Your child should write the number after counting the words together and also try to write the words.

Reading

The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday.

 

Maths

This week we will be focusing on the topic of measure. We will be comparing objects long/short and heavy/light.

 

As part of our Big Maths we do CLIC sessions in the class which now in Primary 1 involve C – counting  L – learn its I – it’s nothing new and C – calculations.

Counting – counting actual objects

Learn its –  2 + 3 = 5,  2 + 1 = 3

It’s Nothing New – doubling 1 digit numbers

Calculations – concept of division (sharing)

We will round off our health topic this week.
