Letter Sounds
This week our letter sounds are m and d. Letter m homework should be completed for Wednesday and letter d homework should be completed by Friday.
Common Words
Please continue to revise the first 12 common words on the word wall in the white book. Words for this week are her and his. Please complete the common word homework for Thursday. You may need to help your child to write the number after counting the words together.
Reading
The children will now be moving onto the books with words. These will go home on a Monday and a Thursday so they will get 2 new books each week. The children will have heard the extended story in school so may be able to tell you more about what is happening in the pictures. Encourage your child to look at the words or point to them as you read.
Word Pots
The children still have the main character names in their word pot. Kipper, Biff, Chip, Mum, Dad and Floppy. These can be used along with the reading book to match up the words. Other words related to the reading books will start to be added to the word pots now. These can be used in the same way or to play find the word games or to create short sentences such as Mum and Kipper.
Maths
This week we are continuing with our counting, ordering, recognising number dot patterns and finding missing numbers on a number line. We will also begin to write the numerals and learn the correct formation for these.
