This afternoon the children were practising their balancing and jumping skills! They also had to listen carefully to instructions and be patient waiting for their turn.

We have four ‘Take Home Bears’ at Nursery who love to go on adventures at the weekends!

This week our Little Big Maths Targets are:
A –Â I know when the amount in a group has increased.
C – I can count to 17.
L – I know that 5 fingers add 5 fingers is 10 fingers.
C – I know which number comes next.
In Nursery this term we have been starting to do Little Big Maths sessions in our group time. Little Big Maths is a scheme of work designed to support the development of early numeracy. It leads into the work completed in Primary 1-7 during Big Maths sessions.

ACLIC for short!
We have new targets each week which are up on the Nursery doors. The introduction to the Little Bit Maths book is also on the wall outside Nursery.

On Monday we had a visit from PC Caulder. She told us about her job and answered some of our questions!
She then took our finger prints and allowed us to have a go with her hand cuffs!
We were allowed to look in the police car, setting off the sirens and pretending to drive! It was so much fun! Thank you so much for coming to see us!!

Although the weather is currently shortening our school day, we are making the most of it at Nursery!
Snow offers lots of learning opportunities!
The children were learning how to travel safely in the snow.
They were problem solving to figure out how to get to the top of the slippy hill so that they could sledge down.
They had to work out how to collect and transport snow for our Nursery snowman.
They had to find a fair way to share the sledges to make sure everyone had a turn.

We had an amazing time yesterday celebrating World Book Day!
The children wore lots of amazing costumes and brought their favourite books to tell us about! We have displayed the information about their favourite books outside Nursery.
Well done to Harry (AM) and Payton (PM) who won the prize for “Best Dressed!”
