SOLO or Bloom’s Extended Taxonomy……..

Using either SOLO or Bloom’s Extended Taxonomy as a tool in the teaching and learner process will help teachers to:
1. Plan appropriate learning experiences with learners, ensuring personalisation and choice of learning experiences
2. Set standards and expectations in learning intentions
3. Construct clear, relevant and meaningful definitions of success with learners fully involved in formulating success criteria
4. Ensure rich and varied learning experiences matched to the needs and abilities of all learners, taking into consideration the 7 design principles
5. Involve the learner in making choices and decisions on a range of evidence of learning by providing a shared vocabulary to discuss progress
6. Consider the level of breadth, challenge and application when assessing progress, while providing the learner with a clear pathway to improvement and raising standards.
7. Take part in collaborative discussions on the teaching and learning process to ensure challenge & enjoyment, personalisation & choice, breadth, coherence, relevance, progression and depth are being developed for all learners.
