It is not unusual for teaching and support staff to receive letters of praise and thanks from the pupils at St Joseph’s in Helensburgh – the ethos and pastoral care is almost palpable and many who visit us often comment as much. Everyone’s a winner and the children greatly appreciate the staff. However, so impressed with her teacher was Isobel in P7 that she wrote to Blue Peter to ask for Miss Boyd to be given a Blue Peter badge because, as Isobel said, ‘Miss Boyd is just great!’.
Unfortunately we had to learn that Blue Peter badges cannot be given out to anyone over 15, which marginally excluded Miss Boyd! However, Blue Peter were so impressed by Isobel’s praise of her teacher that they sent her a fabric badge for Miss Boyd which she can now happily sew onto one of her jumpers!
The staff at St Joseph’s are dearly loved by the children but it was so nice to see one of them so beautifully honoured!
