The Primary 1 class at Lochnell had a fantastic day out to celebrate the end of their topic on Travelling.
On Thursday 6th December we all boarded a bus at school – we’d used the bus for last week’s visit to the bookshop but this time we had a coach so we were up much higher than before. The coach took us to the train station at Connel and then we got on the train to travel to Oban. We loved being on the train because it sounded really cool and we could see the countryside rushing past us. The driver tooted the whistle LOTS of times for us. When we got to Oban we went to watch a ferry loading. The crew and passengers gave us a wave as they set off. We really enjoyed seeing the things we had been finding out about.
After a picnic lunch, indoors, we set off for the library and Sue, the librarian, read us a story about Santa not being able to travel from Glasgow to Oban. Luckily he had aliens who lent him their spaceship.
We loved looking at all of the books in the library and we’re looking forward to taking our mums and dads back to the library to show them which books we’d like to borrow.
