On the afternoon of 23 October we celebrated the success of one of our pupils, Chloe Taylor (P6), in a national competition. The competition, to design a Christmas card, was run by CrossReach, part of the Church of Scotland’s social care network. Chloe, along with her friends in our Arts and Crafts Club, designed a Christmas card back in January of this year. Out of the many hundreds of entries her card, featuring an angel and the words “Jesus is a friend to all people” was selected as the best children’s entry.
Chloe was presented with her prize of 5 packs of her cards and a goody bag by Pete Cuthbertson of CrossReach, watched by an audience of fellow pupils from Furnace and Minard, staff, parents and other members of Chloe’s family. Her cards will be on sale through CrossReach’s Christmas catalogue and will end up all over the world this Christmas. Well done Chloe!
