The school follows the Curriculum for Excellence Guidelines in Expressive Arts. This includes music, art, dance and drama. These are used to develop the children’s emotional and aesthetic responses, and develop an appreciation of the benefits of healthy living and fitness.
In music, children work on pitch, rhythm and singing and the children are given the chance to listen to music and to make their own music. Primary 6 & 7 pupils are given the chance to learn to play string instruments.
In Art, children are encouraged to express their own using a variety of materials. They are taught various techniques and given the chance to observe and discuss the work of others.
Drama and dance are used throughout the school to give the pupils opportunity to express and explore their feelings.
