Last week we went to the Risk Factory. The Risk Factory allowed the class to learn about risks and the results of risks. Here are a few quotes from our trip.
Kian “Be cautious because taking risks can harm you”
Elliot “I learned that at a power station it is not just the boxes that can harm you, it’s the air around you. The metal bars are there to stop the electricity from reaching you. Stay away”
Breanna “I learned how to deal with a house on fire. You have to leave the house as quick as possible and call the fire brigade 999. “
Evie “I learned the proper way to call 999 in an emergency. I called it and spoke with the operator. She was asking for different information”
Sophie “I enjoyed learning how to investigate a scene. ”
Lucy G “I enjoyed learning about railways and how dangerous they are”
Kael “If there is a fire, remember to keep yourself safe and evacuate”
Olivia “I learned how to save a dog that was stuck in a river
Elle “The risks at the risk factory aren’t all the risks and there are more risks on a day to day basis”
Isla “I enjoyed exploring all the rooms and seeing what could happen for each risk or environment”
Adam “My favourite scene was the fire because you had to act out the situation and phone”
Daryl “I enjoyed learning about all the dangers and risks that could happen in a real situation”
Update 7.2.19
Hello everyone,
time for a quick p3m update.
Baili wanted to share that we have been working on a routine in gymnastics that he will perform for his PE assessment this term.
Eden wanted to share that we have been making wanted posters for the witch from the story of Hansel and Gretel. This built on the skills we had been working on last week when we made missing person’s posters for Hansel and Gretel.
In literacy, Jake has been working on his common words and putting them into sentences.
Louise has enjoyed drama and really enjoyed conscience alley where we explored the poem of the Spider and the Fly. Jessica M really enjoyed this too.
Ana wants to tell you that we have been looking at multiplication and division facts of 4. Jaksen enjoyed when we used 4 hula hoops and shared little rings into the 4 hula hoop groups. Cara has enjoyed learning her 4 times tables. Lauren has enjoyed dividing by 4. Evan enjoyed his 3 times tables last week.
Jessica D has enjoyed learning our French weather words.
As part of our new Religious Buildings topic, Sophie was learning about the story of God’s promise to Abraham and created a poster to show her understanding of the story. Callum S has been enjoying learning about different religions.
Erika has been enjoying ERIC reading where EVERYONE READS IN CLASS and we read a book for enjoyment.
During our Jigsaw Health and Wellbeing lessons we have been learning about our dreams and goals, William shared his dream of becoming a professional footballer.
Primary 3 also have a request, we are looking for large sheets of cardboard for our show props. If you have any large sheets of cardboard that you could spare we would be very grateful.
Thank you for your continued support,
Miss MacKenzie
