P2M Updated!

We would like to wish everyone a happy new year!

In numeracy we have been learning to use arrays to help us with our times tables. We have been learning to count in 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s. In maths, with Miss Hendrie, we have been learning about measure, days of the week, months of the year and the four different seasons.

We have been learning lots of different ways to make the ‘igh’ sound. This week we have been practicing making ‘i_e’ with the magic e. We have been learning to write rhyming poems and Scottish words. In art we have made Scotty dogs and Puffins after reading ‘The Wee Lassie Who Swallowed a Midgie.’

In our topic we are learning about the human body. So far we have learned a lot about the different bones in the body. We have learned that the jaw is the biggest bone in your face. We are going to be learning more about the stomach and other organs in the body.

“We made rain cloud pictures using water and paint”.

“ I liked making our favourite weather scene”.

“We have been learning about odd and even numbers”.

“We count up in twos for even numbers”.

“The odd numbers don’t have a partner to pair up with.”

Primary 7SW update

In Primary 7 we have been teaching each other different talents. Ferida taught to count to 20 in Albanian, Liam taught us how to count to 10 in German, Skye taught us the alphabet in sign language, Charlie taught goal keeping skills, Hope and Olivia taught how to play the guitar, Darcy taught us a magic trick and Robyn taught us drawing skills.

We have started our Mock Court Project. We’re going up against Williamston Primary school and we’re determined to win! We have been thinking about the different roles we can do.

Some Primary 7s are visiting the Scottish Parliament today for the Heartstone Project.

Next Wednesday we will be going to the career’s fayre in Livingston to find out about different jobs in the NHS
