Primary 6CW August 2023

We are delighted to be back at school and have made a great start to Primary 6

In PE we have been doing gymnastics. Last week we learnt about different types of jumps and this week we are learning rolls. We are looking forward to getting the big equipment out too.

We have been learning about the Egyptians. A member or P6CW got mummified last week!!! We also each mummified our own apples though they are going a bit mouldy now!!! We also designed our own sarcophagus.

In numeracy we have been learning about place value and in maths we have been learning about time.

We are really excited to go to Linlithgow for canoeing and team building

Primary 4hs Learn it! Log it! Blog it!

Last Monday we went to the Kelpies and Helix Park for our class trip.  We really enjoyed our day and we loved having our lunch outside and playing at the park.  Our favourite part of the day was when we got ice creams before coming home on the bus.

Last week we started our Health and Fitness 3 week block.  So far we have been learning about different types of healthy foods.  We have written some poetry with a health and wellbeing topic and today we have started to write a book review which we have to share with the class next week.

Last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we had our transition days when we met our new teacher.  Our new P5 teacher is our current P4 teacher – Miss Henderson.  We are so excited to spend another year learning with Miss Henderson.  As we are staying in the same classroom we spent some time talking and planning about how we want our P5 classroom to look and what reward systems we would like in place.  We are so excited about moving up into Primary 5!

This week we have our annual Windyknowe’s Got Talent competition and Ready Steady Cook to look forward to and next week we have our P4 Sports Day.
