ELC Blog Update 10.11.22

In the ELC, we have been learning about Autumn. We know that the leaves fall off the trees and we have to tidy them up. We have been doing this in our garden. We got apples from the tree in the ELC garden as well. We were peeling and chopping them and we made apple pie and apple soup. We have been looking at our autumn books and the acorns.

We were finding out how we get milk and then we were learning about the planets, the stars and the moon. We built a rocket for our role play. We wanted to know how many days it would take us get to the moon, so we had to research to find out and we now know it takes 3 days. We have been practising counting backwards for the countdown for our rocket blast off.

We have been doing exercise to keep us strong and make us healthy.

We are looking forward to doing lots more learning as we head towards Christmas.

Windyknowe ELC – 23rd September 2022

We have shown a keen interest in dinosaurs and we have loved sharing all our knowledge with our peers and the ladies. We are beginning to explore autumn after noticing our apples falling from the tree in the nursery garden. We have been peeling, cutting and making apple crumble with our very own apples. We will continue to explore autumn as the leaves fall from the trees and we are looking forward to our forest walk to collect some autumn materials. We are currently making our scarecrow which will be on display in the hall during our coffee morning, next Friday. Everyone is welcome to attend.

ELC Blog Post 2nd September

First of all we would like to say a huge Windyknowe welcome to all of our new children and their families. We have been focussing on forming friendships and discussing our emotions. We have been settling into our new routines and becoming more independent within our setting. We are super proud of how well our new children have settled and how supportive our current children have been towards their new peers.

Our children have been working really hard on our learning wall and it is looking fantastic. We continue to embed our wellbeing characters and use these within our play. Ask your child about the characters. They are very excited and looking forward to receiving our special wellbeing stickers. Some of their comments are listed below.

Gracie: “Iris Included looks after all the new boys and girls.”

Ben: “It’s Archie, George has an Archie at his home.”

Max: “Be safe when climbing.”

Hamish: “Harry Healthy eats vegetables.”

We are looking forward to a fun term ahead.
