P2M Updated!

We would like to wish everyone a happy new year!

In numeracy we have been learning to use arrays to help us with our times tables. We have been learning to count in 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s. In maths, with Miss Hendrie, we have been learning about measure, days of the week, months of the year and the four different seasons.

We have been learning lots of different ways to make the ‘igh’ sound. This week we have been practicing making ‘i_e’ with the magic e. We have been learning to write rhyming poems and Scottish words.Β In art we have made Scotty dogs and Puffins after reading ‘The Wee Lassie Who Swallowed a Midgie.’

In our topic we are learning about the human body. So far we have learned a lot about the different bones in the body. We have learned that the jaw is the biggest bone in your face. We are going to be learning more about the stomach and other organs in the body.

December Update from P2M

We have all been learning different tricky words. We have been writing them, playing games and painting them to help us learn how to spell them.

In Maths we have been learning to skip count in 5s, we have been playing ‘Killer 50’ to help us practice. We have also been using invisible number lines to help us skip count.

In our topic we have been learning about all different kinds of weather. We have been doing outdoor learning with Rob, from Kids Gone Wild, playing games and doing different activities to do with our topic.

In PE we have been learning ball games and have been practicing our ball control skills, it has been lots of fun.

We now have a Class Christmas Tree which we get to decorate if we work really hard. It is already looking great!!

November Update P2M

P2M have been learning lots of new sounds this term. We have been practicing the ‘au’ and ‘aw’ sounds. We took on the role of authors to make our own books and we even made some super, snappy, crocodile jaws!

We have been learning lots about money and have been practicing to recognise different coins. This week we have been learning about budgets and have been making shopping lists to help us keep track of our money.

In our topic we have been learning about tornadoes. We made some tornadoes in a bottle and made some beautiful tornado art work as well.

We have continued to practice our Christmas songs for our Christmas CD. Miss Morland would appreciate if we could practice as much as possible at home as well.
