P7A’s weekly learning highlights- posted by Alderstone

Oliver, I liked it when we did P.E. and we went running on the field and we had the SSPCA come in and we did lots of fun activities like building robots and programming them, it was really fun!

Eoin, I really liked doing maths and learning new strategies for multiplication like 44×20 and we had a visit from the SSPCA and they taught us about animals and we did a fun activity about making robots. It was lots of fun.

Josh A: I really enjoyed learning about blood and making blood in class, like red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma.  I also enjoyed playing the circulatory system game.  Also this week  the Scottish SPCA told us about everything they do,  we also had some fun playing activities like making and playing with the robots.

Josh I: I really liked how we made a model of blood with red cheerios as red blood cells, water with yellow dye as plasma, lentils as platelets and mashmallows as white blood cells. Did you know that platelets actually stop you from bleeding so if you didn’t have them you would bleed forever. We also played a blood circulation game and thanks to Mrs Blair for letting us do it!

Primary 7A Highlights this week…..

We’ve been looking at the veins and arteries of the body and how they move blood around the body to the heart. We made a map of the body to show this.

We have started talking about our health education and discussing the changes in our bodies.

We used reading routes this week to explore atmosphere and mood. We had to use evidence from the text to support our answer.

P7 have been focusing on multiplication strategies, using mental or written methods. We are working on the accuracy of our times table knowledge to support this.

As a class we have written persuasive letters to Mrs Hollands. We used powerful openers and persuasive language to try to convince her to allow the use of personal devices for our learning and about how to develop our playground.
