P1 Home Learning Thursday 23rd

Happy Thursday everyone, I can’t believe we have almost completed another week of home learning. Here is what we would like you to work on today.

Literacy
• Write a short letter to Miss Mackay or Mrs McKay all about your Easter holiday. If you click on the link you will see an example of how to lay the letter out. It would be lovely if you could write at least 3 sentences. You can also draw some pictures to go with your letter.

Letter to P1

Numeracy
• ‘The One Minute Challenge’, you will need to find something in your house to time 1 minute on. This could be a watch, phone, timer on the oven or egg-timer from a game, anything you can find. Then you need to see how many of each thing you can do in a minute. This could be, star jumps, skipping, toe touches, writing your name, staying quiet, how high can you count? How many sounds can you remember? Really you can do anything the more creative the better. It just has to be done in 1 minute! You could even challenge someone at home to see if they can beat your score.

Afternoon
• Please see weekly plan for information.

Literacy – Functional, Postcard (part 2 of 3) P2/3

Thursday 23rd April 2020

Good morning!  Many thanks to those of you who read my postcard and used the e-form to tell me your answers.  Well done!  Today it’s your turn to write a postcard back to me.  Follow the template to help you.  You can write a comment here or post pictures of your work on Twitter.  Remember, you don’t have to use a real postcard.  Any piece of paper will do.  Have fun!

LI –          to show the purpose of my writing.

SC –        I can include the main features of a postcard.

I can include who the postcard is to and from.

I can include a general statement, at least one fact and a farewell message.

After writing the postcard think about how do you feel you did today?

Remember you can pick up lunches from Kirkhill PS.  I’ll also be posting on Twitter.

2 – Compose a set of warm up exercises to show your family.

3 – Can you find different items / equipment around your house to make an obstacle course? This could be anything from cushions to spoons. Then set up small obstacles to be completed.

HWB / Writing
Please complete your Covid-19 Time Capsule writing activity.

I have re-attached the pack for those who have yet to access it. It would be interesting to keep and hold onto such documents for when you are older!Covid-19time-capsule
