More Health Week fun in P3

On Thursday we enjoyed a visit from local nurses who told us all about the importance of sleep and we made our very own dream catchers!  We walked to Polbeth Bowling Club and enjoyed playing bowling in groups – what an amazing sport which we all loved taking part in!  In the afternoon we went to our school garden and made  flower bombs, which involved  mixing soil and compost and water into a mudball, dipping into seeds and wrapping them in a paper towel tightly.  We then positioned them on the ground and they will attract butterflies and other insects.  On Friday morning we loved doing some fitness work with Mrs Saunders – what a great start to the day!  We played some Circle Time games and made posters about what makes us happy.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone involved in preparing and volunteering for this year’s Health Week!

Stella – I liked making a dream catcher and mine was dark blue and purple.  I hung it above my bed.

Ellie – I liked the bowling and it was so much fun.

Bonnie – I liked making the mudballs and they will attract butterflies.  I put mine next to one of the planters.

Jacob – I loved having bowling because it was fun doing it with my friends.  It’s a good sport.

Scarlette – I liked doing Fitness this morning, it was fun!

Alexander – I enjoyed making mudballs with Mrs. Watson.

Bella – I liked playing the playground games in the afternoon and we made up our own games.

Cody – I enjoyed doing Fitness with Mrs Saunders, my heart was beating fast!

Jessica – I liked the bowling because my grandads do it.  I would like to try it again.

Iza – I loved bowling. I could hit the white ball three times.

Health Week in Primary 5

Well, what a busy week we’ve all had and it has been fantastic! A Big thank you to all the organisations that have participated and our Health & Wellbeing team for organising such a great, fun filled week 🙂

Our week started with Handball, Judo and a visit to Polbeth Bowling Club.  The sunshine was lovely and the walk from school to the bowling club was a lovely rest in between activities.

We then started our afternoon on the Smoothie Bike; we worked in groups, prepped our fruit and had to cycle to blend all the ingredients together. It was then time to watch the P6/P7’s vs The Teachers at Netball.

Wednesday morning started with PE with Mrs McMaster before going out to the back playground to plant trees. The team work P5 showed when completing this activity was amazing! Then we had sports with Mr Boles and he introduced us to two new games that we’re going to keep playing – Jedi Dodgeball and Pirate Ships!

Since Sports Day has been postponed due to the weather we spent out rainy Wednesday afternoon designing and creating Shrek props for the summer show.

Thursday was another very busy day with a Vital team workout, Martial Arts and SMK Dance. It was a very tiring morning!

And our Thursday finished with a lovely class talk with Nicole Lind, who plays football for Linlithgow Rose. The children were very respectful, asked great questions and showed so much interest in what she was telling everyone. Some children even got to try on her kits and play with her ‘red and yellow’ cards.

Today was our last day of Health Week so we started it off with healthy fruit kebabs for our breakfast! We had mango, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, melon, watermelon, plums and kiwis. Everyone was challenged to try a new fruit they hadn’t had before and so many of the children tried – big well done!

We then finished off our morning with some First Aid training.

What a great week and massive well done to all of the children trying new activities!! You have all done so well and deserve a lovely, chilled weekend!

See you all on Monday!

Primary 1 – Health Week Day 3

Health Week | Primary 7's Blog

Another amazing, fun and healthy day for Primary 1 today.  We started by making delicious fruit kebabs with our buddies and we tasted fruits we have had before and some new fruits too.  They were yummy and a great, healthy start to our day.  We enjoyed an exercise class in the P.E. hall and some of the nursery children came along too, which was lovely.  Before lunchtime we enjoyed doing some martial arts which we all absolutely loved!  In the afternoon we did a dance class led by Emma from SMK Dance and a football session led by Nicola Lind who is football player and referee!
