Everyone in Ness has enjoyed coming back to class after our September break. Continuing our focus on Emotional Regulation, we have been learning about the Superhero inside of us- Superflex- who helps us overcome difficult situations. This theme has has informed our writing, with a focus on descriptions of superhero characters. In Maths, we are coming to the end of our Place Value topic- well done everyone for showing your understanding using our Maths working wall. Finally, our main IDL topic ‘Night and Day’ has been inspiring some amazing artwork from our pupils.

This week we have enjoyed a music session where we practiced keeping a regular beat and explored a range of musical instruments. We have also enjoyed time in the sun with lots of outdoor learning experiences. We have also practiced our fine motor skills in creating a Forest Scene display and learned more about day and night time activities in our Topic lessons.

A super week with lots of smiles and fun!

Primary 5’s second day at camp was super! After a hearty breakfast we got ready for our two final challenges – the low ropes and leap of faith. The leap of faith towers above the trees in the woods and our P5 all took it in turns to brave the climb! Once at the top we had to leap forward to touch the swinging ball. Well done to those who made it all the way!

We enjoyed a lovely lunch and some games in the sunshine before we had to say goodbye to camp. We all agreed it ended too soon but was amazing fun, and we look forward to returning in P7!

After a lovely evening meal P5 got ready for the campfire and talent show. We also encountered an unexpected guest – a friendly neighbourhood cat who we named Jingles. He joined us around the campfire and even won the talent show with his chasing sticks and roll routine with Mrs Sinclair! Next we toasted marshmallows around the campfire and then enjoyed some hot chocolate and cake. We rounded the evening off with some games and music in the lounge before settling back into our bunks and getting our PJs on ready for bed! What an amazing day, and the weather truly made it even more spectacular!

What an afternoon we have had! After a delicious lunch, we headed straight for crate climb where we worked as a team to climb as high as we could! We learned how to use a harness and shouted ‘timber’ when the crates fell! Next we did Nightline – where we were blindfolded and had to follow the trail around the woods. Now it’s time for dinner and later campfire!

P5 arrived at camp to glorious weather! After a short orientation we played some team games and then settled into our dorms where we unpacked. Then we played pass the hoop around the circle and a game where we had to tie knots with rope around a giant tree and then untie them again! We enjoyed a filling lunch and are now heading out for afternoon activities!
