Health Week Day 3 in Primary 1

Another busy day in Primary 1.

First up we had Enjoy~a~ball where we learned lots of ball skills.

In the afternoon we all enjoyed sports 🏏 ⚽️ πŸ€ day. We had lots of fun going round the stations and participating in the races.

We are excited to find out what we will be doing over the next two days 🀩

P3 day 3 of Health week

To start day 3 of Health week we had a football session with Davie. He taught us that there is 4 parts of the foot you can use to kick the ball. We played lots of fun games where we had to dribble the ball and try to get the ball off of each other.

We then completed the Daily Mile. Some of us managed to do more than a mile today.

We learned that in Guatemala children make Worry Dolls. They tell these handmade dolls their worries and then put the doll under their pillow. When they wake in the morning the doll has taken away all their worries. We decided to make our own worry dolls out of wooden pegs. We used fabric, wool and pipe cleaners to make our Worry Dolls.

We are really looking forward to sports day this afternoon!

We had time to explore and play in the outdoor class room with our P1S friends.

At the end of the day we had time for a little chill with some relaxation.Β  Β  We listened to some soft lullaby music and watched the clouds float by with our lights on the ceiling.Β  Another packed day !

What a great day !

Health week Day 2 Primary 1S

It was another fun filled Heath day in Primary 1S.

First up today was circuits with Primary 1M and Primary 7. We tried lots of different activities working different areas of our bodies.

We then had some time in the garden making flower 🌺 bombs. We did this together with P1M. These were made from wild flower seeds, compost and clay mud. It was very messy but lots of fun. Some of us planted our bombs in school and some of us have taken them home 🏠.

After that we had some time to play in the outdoor classroom before doing some mindfulness activities in class.

We are all very excited about what activities we will do tomorrow and Sports Day 🀩

P3 day 2 health week

We have had another, busy, fun and healthy day. It was lovely to start our day with a fruity smoothie which we made ourselves. We peeled and chopped the fruit and we then cycled the smoothie bike to blend the fruit together to make our smoothie. They were delicious.

We then went outside to the garden. We have our own planter to look after. We emptied all the weeds out first and then added fresh compost. We then planted some cucumber seeds and Chinese Lantern flower seeds. We will keep an eye on the planter and weed it when needed.

We then did some yoga in class.

What an amazing day we have had .Β  Thank you to Mrs McMaster our PE teacher for organising our activities .Β  We had so much fun !

P3 Health Week Fun

What a fantastic start Primary 3 had to Health Week. Our first activity was with Destination Judo. We had fun trying to escape from our partner and using our strength to hold each other down.

After break we had an interesting talk from Nicole who plays, coaches and referees football. She talked to us about the rules of football and showed us her yellow and red cards. We enjoyed chatting to her and asking her lots of questions.

We then walked over to the Community Garden where we had a colour wheel and we walked around the garden and through the woods looking for these colours in nature. We added little pieces to our wheel to complete it. We found flowers, leaves, petals and grasses. We had the chance to smell some herbs and flowers. one smelled like toothpaste.

In the afternoon we played some table top games. Whilst playing these games we were learning to take turns, show consideration for others, understand that we can’t always be the winner and to be happy for our friends when they win. It was a relaxing, calm time in class.

We also spent some time out in the trim trail. The weather was perfect. We climbed, shuffled, balanced, ran and took turns.Β  We have had a great day. can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Health week day 1 Primary 1S

In Primary 1S we got of to a flying start in health week.

Firstly we walked up to the community garden to explore and complete a colour treasure hunt. For some of us it was our first time at the community garden. We enjoyed walking around finding different colours in the garden.

Next we enjoyed a Judo taster session where we got to try out some moves with a partner. This was lots of fun!

After this we had a special guest join us to talk about football, ⚽️ she is not only a football player but a qualified referee. We got to ask lots of questions about football.

Last but not least we made smoothies on the smoothie bike 🚲. We got to choose what fruit we wanted in our smoothies and what flavour of fruit πŸ‡ 🍈 🍎 🍌 🍐 🍍 juice to mix our fruit up with. It was hard work but lots of fun 🀩

We are looking forward to another busy day tomorrow πŸ˜€

P2 Update 10.5.24

It was bittersweet week in P2 as we said goodbye to one of our friends. Β We will miss her terribly but she has an exciting new chapter ahead of her. Β We had a little party with party food, party games and a little dance off. Β Can you spot any P7s sneaking in for a dance?

This little gang caught my eye during teeth brushing time. Β Smile!

Have a great weekend!

Primary 5’s short week!

Primary 5 have been really busy this week even although we’ve only been in school for 2 and a half days!

We started our new Numeracy topic which is Money – we had lots of great discussions around this; where we get money from, how we get money, what different money is like, different ways to earn money. Everyone has put lots of effort into this topic so far, massive well done! This weeks Learning Intentions have been focussing on splitting amount of money using decimals. Next week we’ll be moving on to rounding to the nearest amounts.

In Literacy, we were still focussing on our procedural writing and creating our board games – they all look great and I can’t wait to have the chance to play them!

The children introduced me to a new game they have been playing in PE with Mrs McMaster – Castle Tumble! Each team needs to build a castle out of hula-hoops, the pitch is split into 4 sections and it is all about protecting your castle from getting knocked down from the dodgeballs! It was great fun and really fun activity to do before our visit to Stirling Castle on Monday!

Have a great weekend everyone!
