Finishing off a fine week at P7😀

In outdoor learnings we went for a nature walk and made alphabetical list full of the stuff we saw🌳

Adam and his friend Anna came in to teach us about a Ghanian-monkey called mangabey and they’re also sending letters by us to a school in Ghana🇬🇭🐒

In physical education (PE) we,ve been focusing on fitness and gymnastics .for fitness we’ve been learning how to use our core muscles 🏋️and in gymnastics we’ve been learning how to do rolls🤸‍♀️

In numeracy or mathematics we’ve been learning how add,subtract,and times fractions by finding the lowest common multiple🧮➕➖✖️

In Scot’s language we’ve learned how to make a rhythmic poem using Scot’s language like Aye,Naw,Dreech,Rammy,and Eejit and we’ve found out the meanings for many other words🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🗣

Hello everyone and a happy new year from P7🥳

It’s good to be back with all our friends😊 and something to do after 2 weeks off!🥱

We’ve been up to a lot of learning and we’ve been manly focusing on maths,literacy,and spelling📚

In guided reading we’ve got new books for the topic of world war 1 and we’ve learned many facts!📖

In math,s we’ve been learned to add and subract fractions by finding the most common multiple🧮In outdoor we’ve been learning how to cooperate with the outdoors and mixing our human bodies with life🏕

-Primary 7👩‍🏫

This week in primary 7 we have been practicing for our Christmas carol which takes place next week.

We have also had Adam from the five sister zoo come in and tell us about native animals. We have partnered up with a school in Ghana where we will exchange letters and posters on our native animals.

We have also went down to primary 3 to bake gingerbread after that we went down to got watch the infant nativity which was amazing.

This week in primary 7 we have been working on our house captain speeches and polling stations for voting! We have also been working on the videos that where shown yesterday in classes! In math we have been working on long division and we are doing excellent!! In spelling we are doing long words that are are getting a bit harder each time! In outdoor learning we are doing shelters for animals making our names out of leafs and more things in the woods and we are also making leaf drawings!! Our topic in class is Democracy and dictatorship along with politics.

We have been doing number talks / number stories since the start of primary 7 and we all as a class have been doing very well been very successful. And then now we do division.While doing our division  in class our teacher taught us bus stop division at the start it was tricky but now it is getting better.

In writing we are doing descriptive writing where we describe what is in a picture, at first it was okay but we weren’t doing it properly so now we are doing it easily with the help of our teacher. 👩‍🏫

We have been doing outdoor learning on Thursday and making our names.

We have been having fun in PE doing badminton and basketball. On Tuesdays we have some sports leaders from St Margaret’s who are coming in and doing some games and playing football with us.

Wow! What an amazing time we are having! A little rain this morning did not dampen our spirits and the sun didn’t take long to come out. Today we have successfully attempted the cat walk, leap of faith, archery, raft building, low ropes and night line. It’s all in a days work. We are looking forward to fishing tonight followed by Highland Games for our last night activities. Check out our photos.

We have had to drag ourselves away from the camp fire tonight, where we sang songs, told jokes, played games and toasted marshmallows, to head up for supper. Roll on more hot chocolate. What a fantastic day two at camp. We can’t seem to wipe the smiles of our faces. Sun is shining, which made our raft building and catwalk activities even more enjoyable. All before we filled our bellies with sausage rolls, bean, and more. Not an empty stomach in sight. Then more activities. Night line, bushcraft and leap of faith finished off our day.  Good, fantastic, teamwork, great, fun, enjoyable, creative are some words we have used to summarise our day.

What a great start to our primary 7 camp. A fun filled day of archery, problem solving, leap of faith and crate climbing. The sun has been shining and so has our smiles. Fantastic start to our week. Looking forward to another day of action tomorrow. Check out our photos!

Happy new year from primary 7!
we have came back from our winter holidays feeling refreshed and ready to learn. We have settled back into out structure and routine and enjoyed setting out 2025 goals. We discussed how we can be the best versions of ourselves for our last few years of primary school.

We have been working hard on our maths with building out thinking classrooms. Maths can be tricky but we are building connections how maths appears in our everyday life.

We enjoyed reuniting with our buddies and look forward to learning more with them in 2025.

Some of our responsible Primary 7 children has an exciting trip to St Margaret’s High School for some transitions lessons. We left his morning and spend half a day at the high school. We were very excited when we returned and even came back to school with some tasty treats. Have a look at our photos.
