Primary 1

Lots of fun learning in Primary 1.

We had a great outdoor buddy session this week. We made sensory bracelets, collecting flowers from around the school grounds.

We also had fun practicing and performing our Rookie Rockstars. Some of us attended and performed at the Thursday evening show, we all did very well and it was a great show.

In RE we learned all about Pentecost, how God sent the Holy Spirit πŸ•ŠοΈto be with us and help us make good choices. We made Holy Spirit headbands to represent the Holy Spirit in us.

We also learned the fairytale story of The Three Pigs 🐷. We made our own puppets so we could retell the story.

Primary 1

This week in Primary 1 we have been having fun 🀩 being rock 🎸 stars with Rookie Rockstars. We learned lots of new songs and dances as well as games and fun facts.

For some of us it was a bit loud to start with and it was very different to our usual learning but we all used our perseverance and we all tried our very best.

In class we had plated beanstalk 🌱 seeds, we have been looking after them in class and now it is time for them to go home. We are all proud of them and are looking forward to seeing them grow at home.

Have a lovely weekend ☺️

Primary 1 Health Week Day 3 and Day 4

Another fun health week day !
We kicked off the day with a fun handball session with the Active Schools coordinator. We practiced lots of ball πŸ₯Ž skills and had fun playing the games.

We then  had a great gymnastics 🀸 session where we learned how to do forward and backward tumbles as well as lots of stretching.

Next up was the mini marathon, we all jogged round and counted how many laps we could do. We did this with P6R.

Sensory session was our next activity and we all had lots of fun trying lots of different things.

Have a lovely weekend πŸ˜€

Primary 1 Health Week, Day 2

It has been another busy day in Primary 1.

We kicked off the day with some yoga and a visit from the school nurses. The nurse told us about eating healthy and looking after our teeth.

Next up was a Judo session, we all tried very hard and used our

perseverance and trying lots of new things.

We then had a super football training session, a football ⚽️ coach taught us lots of cool football drills.

We are looking forward to finding out what we will be getting up to on Thursday!

Heath week day 1

Wow 🀩 what a busy day we had today!
we kicked off the day with fruit πŸ‡ smoothy and fruit kebabs. We tried lots of fruits and got to try the smoothie bike 🚲. It was lots of fun and very tasty πŸ˜‹.

We then enjoyed some time in the trim trail practicing our balance skills and making s’mores at the fire πŸ”₯ pit. We had to be very safe around the fire.

In the afternoon we planted seeds. We had agreed that we wanted to plant tomato Β πŸ… and Β peppers πŸ«‘. Β We had to make sure our pots had enough soil then we took the seeds out of the tomatoes and peppers and put them in our pots.
We are looking forward to them growing!

Our final activity for the day was to watch the teacher’s verse students netball game, we had lots of fun cheering πŸ“£ on everyone. And we managed to squeeze in a cheeky game of duck πŸ¦† duck πŸ¦† goose πŸͺΏ.

What a fun day we had!

Primary 1

We have had a great week in the β˜€οΈ sunshine, remembering to be Sunny Safe with our sun hats 🧒 and sunscreen 🧴.

We got out in the garden and planted potatoes πŸ₯” carrots πŸ₯• and beans 🫘. We were very safe and responsible with the garden tools and all showed great listening skills to follow the instructions. We are looking forward to watching them grow.

We also practiced our balance and coordination skills on the trim trail, we have been doing very well using our perseverance and trying hard as we can find some things tricky.

In class we have been working on time πŸ•°οΈ. We have been talking about how we know time is moving, we have talked about day and night time, moths, seasons, days and the clock ⏰ Our focus with the clock is telling the time on the hour, o’clock.

Primary one have been good role models, we have been up to the nursery to meet the new boys and girls who are coming up to school in the summer. We enjoyed playing with them and telling them all about Primary 1.

Have a lovely weekend.πŸ˜€

Primary 1

What a great start to the week we had in Primary 1, we had a lovely trip to the park with Primary 3 and Fred Frog 🐸. Fred was helping us to spell lots of words in the park.

We have been enjoying the sunshine β˜€οΈ and planting seeds, we were out in the garden planting our pumpkin seeds, we hope they grow big and strong.
We then worked on our balance and coordination skills in the trim trail before cooling off.

In RE we have been learning all about Mary as May is a special moth for Mary. We then started a wall display for Mary to remind us that this is a special month. On Friday we were all respectful at Mass, joining in with the prayers and hymns we know.

We hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Primary 1

Welcome back after our Easter Holidays. We all enjoyed sharing with the class what we got up to during the holidays.

We had a super outdoor learning session this week in the school garden πŸͺ΄ We participated in a sensory treasure hunt, exploring the smells and feels in the garden.

In RE we picked the story of Jonah and the Whale 🐳. We all have a good understanding of the rules we have to follow and that grownups have to follow rules as well. We talked about how we all can make mistakes but it’s good to say sorry and God always forgives us. We made Jonah and the Whale 🐳 models to remind us of this.

In numeracy and maths we have moved on to learning fractions, our focus will be making 1/2 of different shapes and to challenge

different amounts. Two parts make one whole.

Primary 1 have had a fantastic first week back and are looking forward to our last term in Primary 1.

Primary 1

Last week before the Easter holidays and we made the most of it in Primary 1.

We had a great day for our very first school trip. We have been learning about Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and in particular castles 🏰 and we were very excited to get the chance to visit the capital and get inside a real castle.
Just going on the bus 🚌 without our grown ups from home was a real adventure. Some of us were very nervous but we were very brave. Everyone should be proud of themselves.

We all had lots of fun exploring the castle and looking out at the views from it.

On Friday we made Easter 🐣 nest cakes. We had lots of fun using our collaboration skills to work together.

Happy Holidays

Primary 1

We were glad that our outdoor learning got changed to the start of the week this week as we had some lovely sunshine to work outside. We were helping in the trim trail to make a sensory garden. We put our handprints on the crate to decorate it. We then had some time with our buddies in the trim trail to work on our balance, co ordination and team work skills.

We have been learning about the new season of spring and thinking about what happens in spring time. We have created descriptions of chicks 🐣 in our writing jotters.

In numeracy and maths we have been making equal groups, sharing items between friends and making sure everyone has the same amount to keep it fair.
