Primary1S

This week we hosted our very first assembly. We have all learned so much this year and we we excited to share our journey with our school family as well as some grown ups from home.

We have enjoyed some time planting in the school grounds with our buddies this week.
We love Buddy time, reading with our P7 buddies and completing activities together. We watered plants, weeded some areas and planted some wild flower seeds, we hope that after the summer the have grown.

Primary 1S

This week we had a great afternoon at our school careers fair. We got to speak to lots of different people who do different jobs.

Joseph – My favourite was the zoo man.

Keeva – I liked the make up lady best.

James – I want to be a fireman 🧑‍🚒 when I am big.

Jude – The best bit was my Judo master was there!

During art this week we made castles with our handprints. We had lots of fun painting our hands and mixing the colours. We then cut out triangles to make the top of our towers. We love art and are looking forward to bringing them home😀

On Thursday we did some planting in class. We have planted cress 🌱 seeds and 🥕 carrots. We are going to look after the carrots in class for a bit and then plant them in the school garden.

On Friday we enjoyed the Big Breakfast and Sharing our Learning. Lots of grown ups came into class and we showed them how to play maths games on the class iPads.

Have a lovely weekend 🥰

Primary 1 Cooking 🧑‍🍳 Club

It was savoury week in cooking club and today we made 🍔 .
We talked about keeping safe with meat and keeping safe around the cooker.

We made our own burger pates and picked our own toppings, cheese 🧀 lettuce 🥬 tomato 🍅 onion 🧅 and sauce. Not many of us brought them home this week as we ate them in class, they were 😋

Some of us tried new things, pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone.

It was sweet sweet this week and we made delicious 😋 cookies 🍪 we got to choose white chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips or no chips.

We had to work in a group to mix all the ingredients together 🥄 🥣 . We then had to get our hands into the mix to roll balls and cookie 🍪 shapes.

While the cookies were cooking we all worked together to clean up our workspace.

Primary 1S

Another short but busy week in school for Primary 1S.

On Tuesday we made the most of the weather and had our Buddy time in the park. We took our books to the park and read them to our buddies before getting time to play together in the park.

We had a lovely Yoga session this week. We were all very respectful and followed the instructions well.

In maths we have moved onto shape and we are doing very well😀 We enjoyed lots of numeracy activity on national numeracy day. We played maths games, made towers with the bricks and thought about what we will need numbers for when we are grown ups.🟢🟧🔺🔷

We hope you have a lovely weekend 😀

Last day of Health Week Primary 1S

We finished Health week on a high.
We started off with sensory play in the trim trail. We tried lots of different tasks.

The Friendly Dragon also paid us a visit and left us some seeds so we planted them and made lovely castles to put in them. 🏰 🌷

Finally we made fruit 🍋‍🟩 🍓 🍇 🍌 🍎 kebabs. We all love chopping and eating fruit, trying new things.

Have a lovey weekend 😀

Health Week Day 4 Primary1S

We kicked of today with a “how to keep health” session with the school nurse team.
We learned lots of facts about how much sugar is in different juices and about different aspects of Heath. Sleep 😴 is very important for our Heath, we need to get enough sleep every night. To remind us how important sleep is we made Dream 😴 Catchers.

After that we had a Dance 💃 🕺 lesson. This was lots of fun and hard work. We had to concentrate on the dance moves and try to remember them. We tried Highland and Cheer.

Our final activity for the day was sensory zones. We had a great time trying different activities.
