This week, Primary 4 had their first NYCOS session and what a fantastic start we had! We had lots of fun exploring music and getting involved in a range of activities.

The children demonstrated excellent listening skills, following instructions carefully and engaging enthusiastically throughout the session. It was particularly lovely to see them encouraging and supporting their peers, celebrating each other’s contributions and joining in together.

We were so impressed by the children’s enthusiasm for the Expressive Arts and their willingness to have a go, explore and enjoy making music together. We are already looking forward to our next NYCOS session! 🎵⭐

This week, we have been making the most of the dry weather and enjoying some time outdoors on our school’s trim trail.

The children had lots of opportunities to develop their confidence, balance, coordination and independence while exploring the different activities. It was lovely to see each child engaging with the trim trail in their own way, with some choosing to challenge themselves and try new activities, while others built confidence through repeated practice and encouragement.

We were particularly proud to see the children becoming more confident using the balance activities and different elements of the trim trail independently. These small steps towards independence are fantastic to see and are a great way for the children to develop their physical skills while also building resilience and self-belief.

As we settle into a new school year, we have been thinking about what it means to grow and develop. This week, we created some artwork inspired by growth and took time to reflect on the progress we have already made since last year. For some of us, this might be becoming more confident, communicating our needs, building relationships or becoming more independent with our routines. We celebrated that everyone’s journey is different and that growth can look different for each of us. It was lovely to see the children recognise and celebrate just how far they have come. 🌸💚

We’ve had a fantastic first week back in Nurture! 🌟 We have been busy settling into our routines, getting comfortable in our learning environment and getting to know each other. We explored our likes, dislikes and interests through a range of fun activities, using visuals, choices and different forms of communication to help everyone share their ideas. We also began learning about our rights, using visual supports to help us understand and explore what our rights mean. To celebrate our Nurture community, we created colourful painted handprints, showing that every individual is unique and an important part of our class. It has been a lovely week of learning, building relationships and getting settled, and we are excited for all the fun and learning still to come! 💛

This week in Nurture, the children enjoyed exploring our summer-inspired sand and turf sensory tray. They had lots of fun digging, scooping, and creating while engaging their senses through different textures and natural materials. The activity encouraged imaginative play, curiosity, and conversation, while supporting fine motor skills and providing a calm and enjoyable sensory experience.

This week in Nurture class, we had lots of fun creating a beehive picture using finger painting as part of our mini beasts topic. Everyone enjoyed getting creative and exploring different textures and colours. We also had some very exciting news when one of our butterflies emerged from its cocoon! The children were fascinated to watch this special moment and enjoyed learning more about the butterfly life cycle.

Nurture class had so much fun at the careers fayre! The children loved exploring the police cars, fire engines and ambulance up close. They enjoyed chatting with the officers and had great fun trying on some of the uniforms. It was a brilliant hands-on experience and a very exciting day for everyone.

This week, our Nurture Class had lots of fun taking part in Health Week. The children enjoyed trying lots of different activities throughout the week and had a great time keeping active.

We learned some new skills in judo, took part in marathons and active games, and had lots of fun trying circus skills too! The children especially enjoyed having the chance to try new activities and challenge themselves.

In Nurture Class, we have recently begun an exciting new topic on “Minibeasts.” The children have shown great enthusiasm and curiosity as they learn about the different creatures that live in our environment. We had lots of fun exploring the mud, digging carefully and searching closely to discover which minibeasts were hiding beneath the surface. This hands-on activity encouraged teamwork, observation skills, and a sense of adventure as the children shared their findings with one another
