P6 celebrate Burns Night with a Burns Supper!

P6 are going all out in their Scots language topic this term! As well as learning our Scots poems for our in-school competition, we’ve also begun to write our own Scots poem using our own knowledge of  Scots poems and our Scots word bank.

Next we prepared our own Burns supper to eat in class. Firstly we made some tartan bunting for our table. Next we peeled the tatties and neeps and oven roasted the haggis and veggie haggis and made gravy. We said the Selkirk Grace and gave our Address to the Haggis. Then we listened to some bagpipe music together whilst we ate our scran and enjoyed some braw banter wi’ oer pals and Miss Pritchard. Smashin!
