Good afternoon P6, hope everyone had a productive morning! Please remember to add me to your Personal Learning Blogs so that I can give you feedback on your work. Instructions on how to do this were emailed to parents before the Easter break but I can send them again if needed.
Task 1 – RME
Read the Gospel text below:
Gospel: John 20: 19-31
19 Now when it was late that same day, the first of the week, and the doors were shut, where the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them: Peace be with you.
20 And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord.
21 He said therefore to them again: Peace be with you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you.
22 When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost.
23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.
24 Now Thomas, one of the twelve, who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said to him: We have seen the Lord. But he said to them: Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said: Peace be with you.
27 Then he said to Thomas: Put in thy finger hither, and see my hands; and bring hither thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing.
28 Thomas answered, and said to him: My Lord, and my God.
29 Jesus said to him: Because thou hast seen me, Thomas, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and have believed.
30 Many other signs also did Jesus in the sight of his disciples, which are not written in this book.
31 But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: and that believing, you may have life in his name.
Answer these questions in sentences. You can do this in your jotter or open a document and type your answers.
Write out the phrase that Jesus said “ Blessed are they who have not seen and yet have believed” and decorate this. You can write it in bubble writing or fancy letters if you choose.
Task 2 – Health And Wellbeing
We are going to be looking at Food and Health over the next few weeks. Have a look at the Eatwell plate poster and the food powerpoint (hopefully you can open this). I’d like you to keep a food journal of what you eat over the week. If you can, try to indicate what food group each meal includes. I have attached a template of what it might look like but you can record this however you want. On Friday, please upload it to your Personal Learning Blogs.

We are going to now be learning about Negative Numbers in maths. They have lots of real life applications – like the weather in winter and unfortunately sometimes bank balances! Have a look through this PowerPoint:
And then complete these tasks. No Mild, Spicy and Hot today, everyone should complete task 1 and 2 and task 3 offers some extension -try it if you manage ok with the first two tasks.

Good morning P6A! I hope that you are all well today. Here are this morning’s tasks:
Task 1 – Literacy – Writing
Here is the first sentence of your piece of writing. Your task is to continue from this and write an imaginative text, developing a storyline which you think fits in with this start off sentence.
Your start off sentence is:
“What have you done?” the Head Teacher bellowed, all eyes now turned to me as he stood over the lifeless body on the playground.
If we were co-creating a success criteria, think about what we might include today.
Task 2- Numeracy – Problem Solving
The Witch’s Cauldron
The witch needs a 24-leg potion to turn Mrs Egan into a frog. In her potion jars, she has Spiders (8 legs) Lizards (4 legs) and Bats (2 legs)
Try to find all the possible spells to turn your teacher into a frog! Here is one example: 2 spiders, 1 lizard and 2 bats would do the trick.
Be systematic and draw up an ordered list. Make a table of your results. Look for a pattern.
Extension Tasks – for those of you looking to do some more!
1) The witch needs a weaker potion (16-leg) to turn one of our School Captains into a frog. Make a list of which creatures she would need to do this.
2) The witch needs a strong potion (32-leg) to turn Mrs McKissack into a frog!
