Primary 3 Monday 27th April 2020 Morning Activities

Good Morning P3!  We hope you are all well and enjoyed the sunshine this weekend! It looks like it will be another beautiful day today so if you can take your learning outside.  You could write the word boost words in chalk in your garden or even write your 3 and 4 times tables!  Play hopscotch but put the boost words in the squares and when you land on them you have to say what they mean. You might even be able to help your families with some gardening work.

Here are some suggested activities for this morning:

P4B – 27.04.20 MORNING POST

Good morning, P4B!

I hope you have enjoyed your weekend and have had the chance to go for walks in the sun, which has been really nice and warm!

Because it is Monday, we are going to start our learning again and the first task I have for you is one I know you really like:

Big Maths, beat that!

Don’t forget that you don’t need to print the worksheets, just start by copying the sums to your jotters/a sheet and when you are finished copying down the sums, only then will your start the sound file with the music and time for your level.

You will find the documents and sound files for levels 2, 3 and 5 here:

BIG MATHS LEVEL 2 27.04

BIG MATHS LEVEL 3 27.04

BIG MATHS LEVEL 5 27.04

Sound Files

LEVEL 2 – 30 SECONDS

LEVEL 3- 90 SECONDS

LEVEL 5 – 60 SECONDS

YOU NEED TO OPEN THE SOUND FILES FOLDER AND CHOOSE THE RIGHT ONE FOR YOUR LEVEL!

After Big Maths, it will be time for an amazing online lesson from an expert in money.

You can choose from Key stage 1 level,  5-8 years old or Key stage 2 level, 8 years old and beyond. Or you can even watch both and complete the tasks for both if you feel you are up for the challenge!

This link will take you to a Royal Bank of Scotland facebook page but you don’t need to be on facebook to access it, since it is a public page.

https://www.facebook.com/royalbankofscotland/photos/a.313689215405732/2906199392821355/?type=3

It will then be time to our new Spelling words for the week and you will find them here:

SPELLING WB 27.04.20

I would really like you to post a picture of your work, with the best possible definition, to your Personal Learning Blogs and don’t forget to let me know when you do it!

As always between Monday and Thursday, there is going to be a new post for work in the AFTERNOON at around 12.15 so please check again around that time!😉

See you later!

Mrs Valente

P6A AM Tasks – Monday 27th April

Good morning P6A!  Hope that everyone had a good weekend and managed to spend some time in the lovely sunshine.  Here are your tasks for today.  As always, remember to upload your work to your Personal Learning blog if you can.

Task 1 – Literacy – Writing – Bubbles

First watch the clip below.

https://www.literacyshed.com/bubbles.html

When it all seems blue, happiness may be close by… if you just look closely at your surroundings then you will find it. In the clip, Gabby is walking on the beach and finds a bottle of bubbles – when she blows it she gets transported away.  She has fun riding on bubbles and meets people on the way.

Write your own imaginative story about where your bubbles take you.  Who do you meet and what do you see.  Take a look at the targets and try to make sure that you work towards including these in your work today.

Narrative SECOND LEVEL pupil-friendly targets

Task 2 – Numeracy & Maths

We are going to look at algebra for the next few Mondays.  We will begin by exploring what a function machine is.    Have a look at the powerpoint about Function Machines.  If you have problems opening this, use a search engine to find out about function machines.

Complete the worksheet either on paper or type up the answers and share it on your Personal Learning blog.

Extension – create your own function machines which involve 2 step calculations and ask a family member to solve them.  Again, you can share these on your PLB.

Primary 6B Morning Post 27-04-20

Good morning Primary 6 . I hope everyone had a great weekend ! I really enjoyed seeing some of your rockets and hearing your sound rhythms which you uploaded to your personal learning profiles on Friday. Your work was amazing! This morning we are going to do spelling and maths.

Spelling Task

I would like you to copy out your words carefully into your home learning jotter. Next you should do rainbow writing, backward writing, pyramid writing and finally create a word search with your  with your spelling words.

Maths    The number of the day is  56 789 !

We are going to learn about about Compass Points and use them to follow directions. Watch the PowerPoint carefully and then try and complete the worksheets. You could print the sheets  or if this is not possible answer the questions in your jotter. There are three worksheets, mild, spicy and hot and it is entirely up to you which one you complete. Have a fun morning!
