Story Time with Mrs Craig
Here is me reading a story called ‘One Button Benny’. Some of you may have a copy of this story at home as it came with one of your book bug bags. Look out for the special guests who helped me with my story telling.
I hope you all enjoy it.

P4B AM Wednesday 29th April
Good Morning P4!
Here are some tasks for you to work through this morning:
Handwriting
Using cursive writing, write 3 sentences about:
- Something I have enjoyed learning about this week and why?
- Something I have enjoyed doing other than learning this week and why?
- How I have been feeling this week and why?
For those of you who have been working on your formation of letters, take 2 letters each day to practice.
Literacy
Today, we are going to think about Onomatopoeia. Onomatopoeia are words that sound like the sounds it makes, for example whoosh.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z4mmn39/articles/z8t3g82
Thinking about things you find in your house, use onomatopoeia to describe what they sound like. I have attached a worksheet to help, but can you come up with anymore? Try and come up with a few different onomatopoeia’s for each one. We will be using these for tomorrow’s writing task, so keep them safe.
Maths
Today, let’s think about making the same amount but using different combinations of coins and notes. Can you come up with 5 different ways for each amount.
Coin combinations HOT Coin combinations MILD Coin combinations SPICE
I look forward to seeing your work on your Personal Learning Blogs. Remember to look back on pieces of work carried out previously as myself and Mrs Valente may have left you a comment.

Primary 6B Morning Tasks 29-04-20
Good morning and I hope you are ready for another day of learning! We are going to do some imaginative writing and maths today.
Imaginative Writing
You are going to write an imaginative story entitled “The Mystery Door!” Look at the PowerPoint below, which will hopefully give you some ideas how to start your writing. It is entirely up to you what happens in your story, but remember to have a clear structure, lots of detail, accurate punctuation and try to use vocabulary which creates suspense! It is helpful if you can type your stories as they are easier to read. I can’t wait to read your completed work on your learning profiles!
Numeracy The number of the day is 807 547 !
We are going to develop our multiplication skills and use the grid method to work out calculations. Look at the PowerPoint provided and they will remind you how to do this. Next choose a mild, spicy or hot worksheet to complete. You can either print the worksheets or copy the grids neatly into your home learning journal. Remember to continue to be independent learners and check your calculations when the answers are posted on the blog in the afternoon!
Have a super morning Primary 6!
