Primary 7 Tuesday 28th April AM

Good morning P7, time for learning!

Today’s Literacy Work:

For literacy today you have 2 tasks linked to our class novel White Fang. The First Task is comprehension; the questions will cover what you have already read. Remember to answer in full sentences, use the words from the question to help you create a sentence that makes sense.

White Fang Comprehension

Your second literacy task this morning is Word Boost. The first chapter of White Fang has some excellent vocabulary in it however there may be some words that you are unfamiliar with. Create a list of 10 words, can you try and define the word yourself? Use clues such as the sentence it is in or any words you already know that look similar to help you. Once you have tried to define all of the words, look them up to see if you got any correct.

White Fang Word Boost

Today’s Maths Work:

For mental maths this week I want you to try this Big Maths: Learn It everyday! Make sure you time yourself and stick to the 100 seconds – no extra! Hopefully you can improve on your score each day or if you are finishing ALL 72 correctly, try and beat your time each day.  Post your scores/times to Your Personal Learning Blog.

BMBT Learn Its Week 2

https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/stjohnogilvieprimary/files/2020/04/BM100second.mp3

We are now going to be learning about Number Sequences and Patterns, things which occur a great deal in maths but also you will find out in the real world. Start with this fun PowerPoint where you have to identify what will be next in the sequence.  Can you work them all out?

What Comes Next

Now have a look at this PPT – It looks at number sequences and asks you to predict what number would come next, and what the rule would be to describe it         E.g. 3,7,11,15 – Rule is +4 because it goes up by 4 each time.

Number Sequences

Now it’s your turn, remember you can write answers straight into your jotter/on paper, you don’t have to be able to print at home. Here’s a nice introductory starter.

Patterns and Sequences Starter

No Mild, Spicy and Hot today – try to complete as much of this task as you can.

Patterns Main Task

Remember to share your learning to your Personal Learning Blogs so you can receive individual feedback and we look forward to seeing how you get on today.
