2. Use the instructions to colour the organs. (If you do not have a printer, draw out your body with the organs in the correct place, label and colour accordingly.) Organ colour

Good Morning Primary 7, we hope you took advantage of the nice weather yesterday but remembered to use sunscreen!

Today’s Literacy Work:

Last week we had a grammar focus on the use of metaphors to add colour to our writing.  Another literary technique we use for this is similes.  They compare things using as or like and there are some very famous ones that you will know and probably even use in conversation; as fast as lightning, like a bear with a sore head etc.

Stanley is as flat as a pancake. He went on an adventure and posted himself to America to visit his friend. Imagine you were flat, what adventure would you go on?
Write an imaginative story titled ‘Flat ______’ e.g. Flat Olly. Remember to use what you learned yesterday about paragraphs and include descriptive vocabulary to add plenty of detail. Use these questions to help you but remember….this is a story, so there must be flow, we do not want it to read as if you are answering questions.

WHO is the character, what do they look like, what is their personality like?
WHEN does the adventure take place?
WHERE  is the character? where is the adventure to, remembering to use your senses to set the scene.
WHY do you decide to go on an adventure?
WHAT happens on the adventure? remember to build your story up the mountain to the peak and to the problem.
HOW do you overcome the problem?
WHAT happens at the end?
