Good Afternoon

I hope you all enjoyed reading about the Ascension. It’s such an important part of the Catholic calendar. There are even special masses being streamed today from different parishes to celebrate.

RME

Here is a little activity to write the part of the Creed that is a reflection of the Ascension. I have also included some page borders to write on. Or of course you can create your own.

Primary 7 Thursday 21st May Afternoon Tasks

Good Afternoon Primary 7,

I hope you are all having a lovely week so far.

Over the past four weeks we have looked at artists from Scotland and Canada, each of them with their own individual style.  This week, I would like you think about who is your favourite of the four and why?  Was it, Charles Rennie MacIntosh, Steven Brown, Emily Carr or Ted Harrison?  Write a paragraph explaining why you have picked this artist?  How does their work make you feel?  Why do you think this is?

Once you have finished writing your paragraph, it is time for you to create your own piece of art work.  You may have noticed that all of the artists we have explored so far have been inspired by the world around them.  Can you create your own piece of art using any media available to you to represent either Canada or Scotland?  You might want to use the landscape, the native animals or famous landmarks to inspire you.

For those of you who might not be sure where to start, I have put a tutorial below showing you one way you could create a landscape picture.  Feel free to follow the tutorial and build your art skills that way.

I look forward to seeing your finished work.  Remember to add me to your blog, if you haven’t already.

Primary 6 Afternoon Tasks 21-05-20

Good afternoon Primary 6,

I hope you have all had an enjoyable morning.

This afternoon we are going to find out more about the cost of the second Jacobite uprising (1715) and do a bit of music and drama.

Remember to read the information carefully before you attempt the activities.  You won’t be able to do them all but do your best.

Jacobite-2nd Uprising-2

For drama and music we are going to use BBC 10 Pieces again this week.  The music is a very dramatic piece you have heard before, The Ride of the Valkyries, have a go at the suggested home activities:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/ten-pieces/ten-pieces-at-home/zjy3382

Enjoy your afternoon everyone,

Mrs Morrison & Mrs Lea
