We’ve had a great week in P6B!
Numeracy/Maths: We have been learning about addition and subtraction using the column method. We have also been learning about angles with Mrs. Morrison.
Literacy: We have been learning about nouns, adjectives and verbs and successfully included these in our writing. We also began to explore different types of text this week; videos, pictures, written text etc. The children found this interesting and enjoyed their comprehension activities related to a movie trailer.
Health and Wellbeing: We are learning how to express our emotions and discussing strategies that can help us in times of worry and change. We continued and finished our detailed team work art project this week and they look amazing!
Outdoor learning: In our groups, we worked together to find sticks for a game of knots and crosses! It was a lot of fun and we did a GREAT job at remembering our school and class values: ready, respectful and safe!
IDL: We enjoyed working in groups to discuss our topic Extreme Earth we were able to share our prior knowledge with each other and thought of many exciting things we would like to learn about. We researched facts about the earth and began to build a fact file on volcanoes for our topic working wall.

We split into two groups and switched half way through the session. The first group were completing a colour matching activity, trying to find a range of colours in nature. Some were more easy than others.
Melody says, “Outdoor learning was fun last week because we got to go in pairs and look for different coloured things. It was so fun getting to work with a friend.”
Kashvita says,”We learned about the fire triangle then we collected wood for a real fire.”
On Friday we had a Teams meeting P4-7 where those who wanted to gave speeches to try and become the Captain (or Vice-Cpatain) for their House. After each house’s speeches, the pupils in that house (4-7) voted and we hope to soon find out who has been successful.

ning about the Good Samaritan and from this trying to be kind to others at school and at home.

Our focus this week has been on the numbers 3 and 4. We have been trying really hard to form these correctly and enjoyed watching the Numberblocks.
