P1A Learning Highlights 26th March 2021

This week in Phonics we learned about Inky’s Vowel House.  We are able to say the different sounds for each part of the house.  Ask us about the story. In writing, we wrote instructions for how to plant a seed. We are getting really good at using our sounds to spell words.

In RE we learned about Palm Sunday and Jesus coming into Jerusalem on a donkey.  The people waved palms and said ‘Hosanna’.

In maths we have been listening to a song about numbers.  Not just counting in 1s but in 2s, 5s and 10s.  It is easy peasy! Miss Stebbing has been very impressed with how well we have remembered our doubles sums.

In Topic we learned about the lifecycle of a frog.  We have made a special display in our classroom to show our learning.

At outdoor learning we had bubbles to play with.  It was great fun!  We also had chalk and some people drew pictures of minibeasts.  The fairy garden was also out for us to play with.

We have been trying hard to be kind to each other this week.

Some of our personal highlights are:

P4B Weekly Update 19.3.21

It has been a fantastic first week back at school. The sun has been out for both of our PE Lessons and the classroom has been filled with eager chatter. Today we chose two fantastic lead learners who will set targets for everyone next week on how to be Ready, Respectful and Safe at school. The lead learners this week have encouraged everyone to try their best and have shown kindness and respect to everyone in the class, in the playground and in the Dinner Hall.

This week was we have talked about sharing our emotions and it’s OK to say if we need help or a little time out to think or to be calm.  Father Simon popped in to wish everyone well.

Highlights of the week :Seeing friends, having a laugh, playing in the playground were top of the list also Wellbeing Wednesday – painting our emotions, free writing, choosing whatever we want to write about, Some enjoyed Mental Maths activities, measuring angles and drawing line graphs. A couple said they enjoyed our weekly spelling test. 🙂 😉

Next Week : We will be continuing to share our emotions, learn more about Children’s Rights and develop our maths and literacy in fun ways.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend stay safe and healthy. 🙂
