Good Morning Primary 7, hope you are all well and enjoyed your weekend.

Last week most of you had the chance to take part in a variety of different transition activities. We hope that you enjoyed getting the chance to experience some fun activities, and speak to teachers and classmates.

This morning, have a look at the numeracy calendar to see how many of the days you have covered. If you have missed a few dates out, see if you are able to complete these activities.

Today’s Numeracy Work

We are going to be working through a few different tasks this week that are revision of number, money and measure. The aim over the course of the week is to design a house! Today we are starting with floor plans, so it is all about working out the area and perimeter of your dream home. Look through the PowerPoint below to remind you if ways to calculate area and perimeter.

You are going to draw out your dream home, if you have square paper you can use this, if not blank or lined will work just as well. Once you have drawn out the house you must label each room, measure the walls in each room and then calculate the area and perimeter – the PDF below has further detailed instructions and an example floorplan.

Today’s Literacy Work

For literacy, we have a task mat all about Edinburgh Castle. Open the task mat and the leaflet containing information below – choose 3 of the tasks from the mat and work your way through them. Everything you need to know should be in the leaflet, except for the parts that will have to come from your own imagination!
