What a great first week back after the holiday period. Everyone has settled back in brilliantly.

We focused on subtraction this week and had lots of fun counting a long to nursery rhymes such as 5 Little Ducks and 5 Little Monkeys, thinking about taking 1 away from a number.

We learned 2 new sounds this week, d and g. We practiced their formation, used them to build and read words, as well as to write a sentence using a capital letter, finger spacing and full stop all by ourselves.

In topic, we spoke about and drew our favourite toy now and when we were babies. We also learned about forces, talked about toys that use push and pull and then investigated other objects that use these forces too.

We enjoyed sharing with our friends our Christmas and a gift we received. We thought about something we want to achieve this new year and made a New Year’s resolution.
