Hello special SJO families!
Here are the learning highlights of the week from the Red Table:
Olivier said he enjoyed making passports the best and he would use it, if he could, to fly to Poland to visit his family! This week, as part of our learning about when our grandparents were young, P2 learned of the first super-sonic flight from London to New York with Concorde. This led to the passport making activity. The children then spoke about where in the world they would like to fly to and why. We had lots of warm places suggested. I wonder why?
Juliet loved the paper planes we made! We made our very own paper Concordes following the instructions of a Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Cy3lRJGiR4 Thankfully the windy day ensured our planes took off!
David S liked continuing learning to play the drums with Mrs Morrison. This week the children progressed to using 2 drum sticks!
Joe said he liked completing word searches best! The children were searching for common words in their word search before they completed the task for homework on Seesaw for ‘oa’ words. Well done Joe! You found all of your common words!
David K loved it when we were learning about ordinal numbers in maths. We went out to the MUGA with javelins in groups of 4 to discover who came 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th!
Chijiakwu also said he loved learning about ordinal numbers in maths, only instead, he recounted playing ‘Tiddlywinks’. He came 2nd! Well done Chijiakwu!
Zosia enjoyed learning about the life cycle of a frog with Mrs Brand. It was interesting to learn how the tadpoles grew their back legs first!
My highlight was when one of the children asked was it nearly Christmas! “It’s not too far away” was my response. I think the countdown has begun already with some of our little learners!
