Good afternoon Primary 7, hopefully you have been able to access your Literacy and Numeracy work.  Here’s hoping Teams will work this afternoon for us, but I will post your tasks on the blog as well.

Activity 1:

Begin by completed the first 2 columns of the KWL grid.  If you have time this afternoon (after the other activties) you can spend some time researching one of your “I would like to know” questions.

We are going to be listening to the audio book “The Machine Gunners” by Robert Westall. Set during World War Two, The Machine Gunners is the story of young Chas McGill and his friends living in the fictional town of Garmouth in the north east of England.

Today, listen to episode 1 of The Machine Gunners.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/english-ks2-the-machine-gunners-episode-1-the-hunt-for-war-souvenirs/zrs9bdm

While you are listening you might want to note down any words that you are unfamiliar with. Don’t forget, your boost words are from this episode so listen out for them too!   After you have finished listening, complete the character sheet for Chas, Cem and Audrey (we may add to this as we are introduced to new characters).  You can include known facts such as physical appearance, age, gender, location and occupation, as well as subjective ideas such as likes/dislikes, friends/enemies, attitudes, motivations, secrets and dreams.  Don’t worry if you can’t include much today, as we listen to more we will add to it.

Activity 2:

We are going to revise our knowledge of Spanish; numbers to 20, days of the week, the seasons and the months of the year.

The PowerPoint will direct you through each area of revision with links to videos.  Your tasks is to voice record or video yourself saying: numbers to 20, days of the week, the seasons and the months (in Spanish).

Again, please upload your work to your Personal Learning blog.
