Hello P3 families!
I cannot believe that after today, we will only have two more weeks left of term! When I look back at photos of the children from earlier in the year, I can see how much they have grown and how much they have achieved and I feel so proud to have been part of their learning journey.
Here are our learning highlights from this week according to ‘Broxburn’:
Maja loved making World Oceans Day craft! She made a super lollipop lobster! The children already knew so much about the importance of taking care of our oceans due to their Sustainability topic last term. They also learned why sea water is so salty and they came up with ways to remember the names of the position of the different oceans (Southern Ocean as it is at the South of the planet, Arctic Ocean as it is in the Arctic, Indian Ocean because it is below India, Atlantic Ocean because Alex, our classmate, lives in Scotland and the Atlantic Ocean is next to Scotland and ……..we could not think of a clue for the position of the Pacific Ocean so we figured this was the only one left. If any of our super family readers can help us out with a way to remember its position then please send me a message on Seesaw!
Umaez and Izhaan said that the KIDS GONE WILD session was the best part of their week! Umaez loved swinging on the hammock (I doubt if me singing a lullaby to him while I swayed it was part of the reason) and Izhaan loved the zipline! The children are really looking forward to their next session on June 23rd.
Dawid enjoyed watching a kid’s show about the World Cup. The children practised their ability to note take during this exercise.
Danvith and Nathan both said that football skills during PE was a highlight for them. The children practised stopping and passing the ball, dribbling and shooting. As so many of the class are already in football teams, they served as my assistants, helping those who have never played. Next Wednesday, in aid of it being the World Cup, I have organised for a coach to take the children for football and we hope to have a match!
Daniel liked listening to the P6s give their House Captain speeches for these important roles next year as P7s. We then voted for who we thought would be a good candidate.
My highlight was KIDS GONE WILD also. It was great seeing the children have fun in the outdoors, building their resilience and trying new things! I also took some lovely close up photos of nature for a future lesson so that was also nice as the sun was shining and they look so special. The wonder of God’s creation never fails to astound me!
A big congratulations to Maja, our hot chocolate award winner this week. Maja was so happy to receive this award as she already received the winning title for the design of our new ‘Conflict and Mediation’ space that we are setting up and also won the Beebot mat design for maths. What a super star!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Just a reminder about Sports Day on Tuesday and that your child is invited to wear their House colours (blue/green for St Peters, yellow/orange for St Francis and red/purple for St Teresa).
