P2B Week Beginning 22nd August 2022

Hello P2B families!

P2B have been settling back in to school very well.

Here are the learning highlights of the week from the Blue Table:

Evana said the best part of her week was maths.  This week the children have been learning not only to read larger numbers up to 100 but also to understand their value.  Each child chose a number from the 10s column of the 100 square to explore with numicon pieces.  Evana chose the number 30.  She knows that 30 means 3 groups of 10.

Karina enjoyed our time in the woodland.  We revised how to keep safe in the woods and had some free play.

Reesa loved playing ‘Corners’ as a way to revises our Word Boost words.  Congratulations to Aaron, our winner!

Sofia said she loved playing with the shells.  This week we revised the ‘sh’ sound.  She could hear the sea by putting one to her ear!

TJ’s highlight was our Word Boost story ‘The Storm’.  His favourite word was ‘gale’.

Lilly also enjoyed ‘The Storm’ as the best part of her week.  We took beanbags out to the playground and hurled them across the grass!

Blair liked dinnertime this week.  His favourite food was a burger.

Mrs Devlin’s highlight was ‘Meet and Greet’ as part of our morning routine.  I have never played as many ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ games in my life!  The children can chose to ‘smile’, ‘hug’, ‘wave’, ‘foot tap’, ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ or ‘elbow bump’ when they come in in the morning to greet their teacher.  What a lovely way to start the day!

Congratulations to Siya, our Hot Chocolate award winner this week who we also sadly say goodbye to as she is moving school.  We wish her luck at this exciting time.  She will always be part of our St John Ogilvie family.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
