This week’s Children Rights were linked to help and support Government should give to Support Parents.

Article 5 (parental guidance and a child’s evolving capacities): Governments must respect the rights and responsibilities of parents and carers to provide guidance and direction to their child as they grow up, so that they fully enjoy their rights. This must be done in a way that recognises the child’s increasing capacity to make their own choices.

Article 18 (parental responsibilities and state assistance): Both parents share responsibility for bringing up their child and should always consider what is best for the child. Governments must support parents by creating support services for children and giving parents the help they need to raise their children

Your children were able to talk about all the things you do for them everyday and how proud they are of their parents loving and supporting them as much as you do. Your child really appreciates everything you do.

In math we can all divide and multiply using percentages. We also took place in a Sumdog Times Tables Challenge which they all really enjoyed as well as achieving high scores.

Our persuasive writing this week has been focussed on persuading parents and government that all children should learn to swim. These will be completed after the holidays.

In RE this week we have explored Jesus tribulations during Holy Week and have looked forward to the beginning of Ramadan tomorrow. We also made prayer cards for Peace in Ukraine. This week in art we created beautiful sunflower art which your child will bring home to you today.

Next term Primary 6 will be looking towards their future responsibilities in Primary 7. Preparing to be Primary 1 buddies, taking part in elections for House Captains. They will also be taking part in Bikeabilty training at the end of May/beginning of June.

We have had a long but busy term and look forward to new, fun challenges when we return

from Easter Break. Have a lovely holiday.
