P1B Weekly Highlights 10th December

It has been another very busy week in P1B.  Today we were very excited to perform our Nativity.  We all gave our best performance and we can’t wait to see the video and share it with you all.

This week we learned the sounds d and g.  We can recall words that have these sounds at the beginning of the word and we have been practising how to write them.  We made a dog and dinosaur and we used glitter to make Christmas baubles and designed winter gloves.  We sounded out cvc words on the cat boards, one of them was den so we decided to make a den.

We tried to learn about making amounts using 1p coins and then making same amounts using different coins.

We received a letter from a teddy bear asking us to help him make a jigsaw.  We worked together as a class to make the jigsaw and found that it was a toy jigsaw with lots of different toys.  We had a discussion about the jigsaw and then we discussed what we would like to learn for our new topic Toys.

We read a story about old toys and designed and wrote about a new toy.  We also sorted toys into those that are old and new talking about how we can distinguish between them.  We also made penny twist toys.  We drew a picture of our favourtie toy and wrote about it.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and we look forward to another great week ahead!
