Here are the learning highlights of the week from the Yellow Table:
Paige liked the teamwork challenge we had in the woodlands where each child had to collect one stick and the team that made the longest line with their sticks won!
Eva loved her responsibility of being one of the Lead Learners this week. Her favourite job was giving out the dinner tickets.
Ruari enjoyed the celebration of Mary’s birthday on Wednesday. We made birthday cards, learned actions to help us learn the Hail Mary prayer and also wrote sentences about her during Story Writing.
Aiden G also liked learning the actions for the Hail Mary.
Kyle liked it when Mrs Dickie took the class for PE. He liked the games they played.
My highlight was the fantastic teamwork I saw in the class when the children made posters about their rights. We focused on the right to learn this week and the children were aghast to see pictures of Victorian classrooms with no smartboards or children’s work on the wall. The boys sat together and the girls sat together and you may have been made to wear a dunce’s hat if you were naughty or did not get questions right. They were also shocked to hear that children were also hit in school back then! Lots of interesting comparisons were made. They were very relieved to hear how it is against the law for children to be hit today.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and some of the nice weather we had this week remains.
