P1B Week Beginning 23rd November

It has been another busy week in P1B.

This week we have been learning the sound ‘e’.  We can recall words that beginning with e and we also looked at words that have the sound e in the middle of their word.  We tried very hard to read words by blending our sounds.  We practised forming the letter e.

We read the story ‘The Old Toy Room’ we sequenced pictures into the correct order to retell the story and we wrote a sentence to describe a toy.  We looked at toys from the past and compared them to present day.  We then looked at how toys move, whether it is by motion of push or pull.

We investigated money coins, we matched, sorted and ordered them by value.  We also looked at number bonds for 7 and 8 and made the number in different ways.  We learned the facts to 8 by giving a lady bird her spots.

We have added a cafe and shop to the play area with money coins for the children to explore buying items.

The children have enjoyed the block play.  They worked collaboratively with their peers to design and create buildings.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and look forward to all the exciting learning we have planned for next week.
